The Blend 2025

The Blend is part of the Gabriëlskloof Range, alongside our Rosebud, “The Blanc” Sauvignon Blanc, Synonym Chenin Blanc, and Syrah. This range offers boutique-style wines that always over-deliver on quality and value.

Climate & Viticulture

The 2025 vintage benefited from a late, wet winter and ideal spring conditions, though early flowering faced challenges from wind and rain. The season progressed into a mild, dry summer followed by hot conditions that accelerated harvest timing.

Vinification

After careful hand-picking, the bunches were destemmed and gravity-fed into fermentation tanks, enabling whole-berry fermentation. The wine was naturally fermented and aged for 18 months in older 225L French barrique. The wine’s components are Cabernet Sauvignon (44%), Cabernet Franc (21%), Petit Verdot (16%), Merlot (14%) and Malbec (5%).

Tasting note

Concentration, fruit depth, and distinct earthiness define this vintage. Sour cherry, plum, and leather emerge on the nose, followed by a dense, focused palate of blackcurrant, dark chocolate, and liquorice. The tannins are dry with a pithy tartness and texture, while a lively acidity prolongs the sumptuous finish.
