ABOUT
The Swartrivier Syrah is part of the Gabriëlskloof Range, together with our Rosebud, “The Blanc” Sauvignon Blanc, Synonym Chenin Blanc and The Blend. This range offers a selection of boutique-style wines that always over-deliver on quality and value.

CLIMATE & VITICULTURE
The 2024 vintage was marked by a wet winter and spring, fostering vigorous vineyard growth, whilst challenging weather during flowering resulted in lower yields. Despite reduced quantities, the 2024 wines showcase intense characteristics balanced by a lively freshness, a testament to the vineyard's robust early-season development.

VINIFICATION
Following careful hand-picking, a portion of the bunches were destemmed and transferred to fermentation tanks using a gravity system, allowing for whole berry fermentation, while the rest went in as whole bunch. Naturally fermented and aged in older French barrique for 12 months.

TASTING NOTE
Bramble, plum, dark chocolate and a spiced quality from both white pepper and nutmeg on the nose – as well as violets and kelp. The palate is grippy and dry, with a refreshingly tart plum skin texture alongside succulent crushed blackberries, salted liquorice and cocoa. Fruity, crunchy and saline.
