Join us to celebrate the arrival of summer at our annual Garden Party on Saturday, 13 December 2025, from 10h00 to 17h00.
What's a garden party? For us, it's simple: a celebration of summer, outside, in our quad. Think live music drifting across the lawn, wine or bubbly in hand, good food shared with good people, and the kind of lazy afternoon where time seems to slow down just enough.
Mouthwatering Things to Eat on the Lawn
Pre-Order Picnic Boxes (R575 for 2-4 people)
The Kitchen Door's Picnic Boxes are designed for sharing and grazing. Each box will feature wood-fired smoked snoek paté with apricot chutney, TKD pinchos skewers, handmade pork rillette, assorted local salami and ham, Anysbos Camembert, cumin boerenkaas, Klein River cheese, mini mosbolletjie loaf, lavash (type of flatbread)
and rosemary crackers, cultured butter, and pickled pear - everything you need for an unhurried afternoon of picking, sharing, and savouring summer flavours.

We've got the kids sorted with mini margarita pizzas (R85), free-range homemade chicken strips (R65), triple-cooked chips with mayo (R35), and soft-serve cones (from R25). Plus, special "bindle bags" on a stick (R100) filled with chips, juice, a sweet treat, a treasure hunt guide, and a face painting voucher.
Fresh Oysters & Bubbly
No Garden Party is complete without delectable fresh oysters from Saldanha, thanks to the inimitable Oyster Lady, paired with ice-cold Madame Lucy's MCC. Summer perfected!
The Tasting Room
Guests can also meet us in the Tasting Room, where we'll be opening some special (older) bottles and chatting about all things wine-related. Taste new releases, explore older vintages from the vinotheque, or simply pour your favourite Gabriëlskloof wine and find your spot on the lawn.
Curated Vendors & Beautiful Things
A specially curated (small) selection of vendors will be selling beautiful and delicious things throughout the day, including, to name a couple: topiaries and plants by Andrea Semple and Kroon & Karoo, artisan cheeses from Kleinrivier Cheese, watercolour cards and stationery by Moon & Brush, various take-home treats, Mantra Living's selection of gifts and homeware – perfect for discovering unique gifts or treating yourself. Browse with a glass of wine in hand (and discover treasures you didn't know you needed).
Live Music
The soundtrack to the day features entertaining performances by the Botrivier Marimba kids, while local musician CJ van den Bergh will be strumming his guitar. It's the perfect lazy-afternoon soundtrack for grazing, sipping, and soaking up the summer vibes.
