The 2024 vintage at Gabrielskloof was marked by exceptional conditions that led to wines of remarkable concentration and freshness. Despite reduced quantities, the 2024 wines showcase intense characteristics balanced by a lively freshness, a testament to the vineyard's robust early-season development.
Vinification
The Chenin Blanc 2024 was fermented wild in barrels (70%) and stainless steel tanks (30%) and left on its lees for seven months before bottling.
Tasting note
The nose shows white peach, loquat and thatch before a palate defined by stone fruits and citrus with a mealy, marzipan-like texture that coats the mouth. Fresh acidity cuts into this generosity of fruit, the tang and texture of lime leaf and salted macadamias conspiring for an extended finish.
