We're celebrating the arrival of Summer and all the good things that come with it!
You can pre-book and pay for a picnic box for two adults, offering a delicious selection of antipasti-style things, from sourdough to local cheeses, cured meats and dips - a gourmet experience perfect for sharing. You can also book and pay for the kids' version - a little picnic bag on a stick filled with a selection of things for little palates to graze on, something to drink, and a small surprise. Of course, other food options will be available on the day - the most delicious paella, beautiful oysters (with lots of Madame Lucy's MCC!), a very special Thai curry (from our friend Nic in Elgin) and more.
Taste some new wine releases, a couple of older vintages from the vinotheque, or simply fill your glass with your favourite Gabriëlskloof wine, collect your picnic box, find a spot on the stoep or lawn, and chill!
Adding to the day's festivities, we're excited to host renowned artist Roderick Freemantle, who will be launching a month-long showcase of his new works in our Amphora Cellar space. Based in Redelinghuys, Rod has been painting for over five decades, drawing inspiration from sources as diverse as Leonardo da Vinci and ancient Bushman rock art.
Kids can join Zola of Crazylicious Cookies for a guided "decorate your own cookie" class, sign up for a special treasure hunt, grab a rod and "fish" in our ponds or enjoy the jumping castle. There will also be some activities for adults - we've asked some of our friends to come and host mini-workshops on the day:
09h00 - Yoga with Pauline Leppan of Yogaheart (R100 for 60minutes) - no booking necessary.
10h00 to 15h00 - Dip your own Beeswax birthday candles with Susan Walker of WikiCandles (R150pp)- no booking necessary
12h00 - Watercolour wonder with Tamzin of Moon & Brush - paint your own Christmas cards (R300pp) - booking essential
Entrance for one adult - this "ticket" will get you a glass of wine upon arrival, along with your entry.
